Valpolicella

Valpolicella is a hilly wine region just north of Verona, nestled between the foothills of the Alps and Lake Garda, where a mild climate, limestone and clay soils, and varied elevations create ideal conditions for native varieties such as Corvina, Rondinella, and Corvinone. Historically celebrated for the powerful Amarone made using the appassimento method, the region is far more nuanced than its most famous wine. From fresh, gastronomic Valpolicella Classica to more structured single-vineyard expressions, Valpolicella reflects a mosaic of slopes and micro-terroirs. Today, it stands not only for intensity and concentration, but increasingly for balance, elegance, and a renewed appreciation of finesse and drinkability.
